DECO FLAPPER BAG features a THICK Two-tone FLORAL CELLULOID TOP! UNUSUAL heavy and thick celluloid frame flaps over the soft velvet bag. Interior contains a clear beveled mirror on top (shows minor age wear on edges) and bold Deco print lining--all original!

The octagon celluloid/Bakelite top is approx 5" wide at frame with thick curved clasp, all in GREAT SHAPE. The velvet body flares out to 8" at widest. Thick celluloid chain handle adds 7 inches. NO chips, cracks or tears with minor wear, this Deco treasure is in EX condition inside and out.

WONDERFUL 1920s vintage W&D Deco Dresden mesh bag with unusual geometric engraved frame sports a colorful floral bouquet. Vivid design and bright colors with pale yellow silk lining--all in SUPER shape. This beauty measures a BIG 5"x 9"--NO fading, holes or tears. Minor age wear on frame, all fringe and mesh intact.

W& D's Dresden or soldered mesh bags looked like impressionist paintings with their soft colors and designs. Perhaps inspired by Monet? In fact, these works of art were among the most expensive bags made at that time--the larger bags like this could run from $28.-$42. and more in the 1920s-30s--an exorbitant sum then, especially during the Depression.
